Sage Patanjali in PYS II-43 says "Kayendriyasiddhih ashuddhikshayat tapasah", the purification of body along with sensory organs can be achieved by adopting proper Tapas (Austerity). The role of mind in the creation of health and disease has been well emphasized in ancient Indian texts. Moreover, the phases of the moon are said to influence the emotions of a person and thus can indirectly affect the health of a person. The modern world is also realizing these links and hence there is a surge of detox- ification programs everywhere.
A unique rejuvenation program, Chandrayanam is an ancient Indian austerity practice observed to reduce impurities in body and mind, followed on the basis of the lunar cycle. Two lunar cycles exist full moon to full moon and new moon to new moon.

Full moon to full moon cycle represents the 'Pipilika' or ant. If Chan- drayanam is followed during this cycle the yogis would eat 15 morsels of food on the first day which would steadily reduce in quantity till the 15th day on that day they would fast. The quantity of food would be increased slowly again from the 16th day till it reached 15 mor- sels on the full moon (30th day).

Yoga can never be termed under ‘one size fits all’ rule. Each body is different and so is the difference in the practice methodology. Yoga is for all, but not in one form. It needs careful evaluation of one’s age, gender, medical history and level of practice to decide the practices one shall perform. We keep this in consideration while designing the practice methodology for our students.

Our message for seniors, you’re never too old to reap the rewards of yoga. Yoga can benefit you, if done under proper guidance, with special care and attention while imparting the practices, and also while performing.

Qasr al-Hosn, also known as the White Fort or the Old Fort, is a historic landmark and the oldest stone building in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It stands as a testament to the city's rich history and cultural heritage.

Built in 1761 as a conical watchtower to protect the only freshwater well on Abu Dhabi Island, Qasr al-Hosn has witnessed the city's transformation from a small pearling and fishing village to a modern metropolis. The tower was later expanded into a small fort in 1793 and further expanded in the late 1930s, reflecting the evolving needs of the ruling family and the community.Today, Qasr al-Hosn serves as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the past. The Inner Fort, dating back to 1795, houses exhibits showcasing the history of Abu Dhabi and the ruling family. The Outer Palace, built between 1939 and 1945, provides insights into the daily life of the royal family and the administration of the emirate.
